Student Services
Student Writing Center
Free tutoring is available at the Student Writing Center (2nd floor, Alden Library) to help you with any aspect of your writing, including prewriting, outlining, organization, argument, thesis development, looking for ways to expand or limit your essay, and guidance in editing. Please access the Student Writing Center website to make an appointment. The Student Writing Center hours are available on the FAQ page of the website. When accessing the Student Writing Center, please make an appointment to see a tutor to ensure that you are seen. Walk-ins are welcome at the Student Writing Center if a tutor is available. If you are not able to attend a scheduled appointment, please cancel your appointment.
You are required to see a tutor at the Student Writing Center at least once during each project and up to four times for credit. Check with me about who to see.
Student Accessibility Services
If you are a student with special needs, which, if not addressed, will affect your performance in this class, please see me early on in the semester. I will be happy to discuss any and all accommodations that are necessary to make this course work for you. I would like to be aware of any concerns you might have so that I can help you work at your full potential.
OU does provide services for students with disabilities. The Student Accessibility Services is located at 348 Baker University Center. Their phone number is (740) 593-2620 if you need to contact them for any reason. If you do have a disability, learning or otherwise, please see me after class, during my office hours, or by appointment so we can discuss how to best accommodate you.
Instructor's Note
If you have any concern about your ability to function in class, whether or not you have a documented disability of any type, please come talk with me as soon as possible so that I can attempt to make your learning experience within this class as positive as possible.
