Final Grades
will be figured on the above scale and may be adjusted for improvement in composing and writing skills, engagement, and effort
consists of work that is significantly incomplete or plagiarized and/or significant absences, lack of submitting daily assignments, and participation in class/blog
consists of work that is seriously deficient in many areas, which may also mean that you need to contact me to discuss ways to improve and attend more writing center tutorials, and irregular attendance, submission of daily assignments, and participation in class/blog
consists of work that meets a minimum of assigned expectations and may have significant flaws in what is expected for an “A” and less than regular attendance, submission of daily assignments, and participation in class/blog
consists of work that is less than what is expected for an “A” but more than minimum requirements and less than regular attendance, submission of daily assignments, and participation in class/blog
A
consists of work that is thoughtfully done and thoroughly engaged; provides evidence and insightful analysis to advance and support arguments; shows original, creative, and critical thought, rather than repeating arguments from assignments and discussions; clearly and articulately composed; carefully proofread and edited for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and word choice; carefully formatted according to 2016 MLA guidelines; fulfills assignment requirements and guidelines and word count; regular writing center attendance as assigned and regular and consistent attendance; all written assignments fulfill writing expectations; and excellent participation in class/blog
